Relaxing, well-appointed getaway just an hour from Cotes d'Azure

House - huge kitchen and two very large communal rooms. Clean bathrooms and bedrooms. Bluetooth sound system, satellite TV, DVD collection and great WiFi. Outside - large and private patio with views for miles along the deserted valley. Forested grounds all the way down to the river at the bottom. Lots of interesting large insects but with the fly screens, they stay outside :-) Super night-sky and silence save for the crickets and occasional owl. Can easily spend the entire day on the patio reading, internetting, snoozing, sunbathing, picking out deer on the opposite side of the valley - binoculars provided. Surroundings - about 5 minutes (drive) from the nearest village (Greoliere) with a handful of excellent restaurants. Spectacular scenery around every corner. About 40 minutes to the nearest supermarket and an hour from Nice / Cannes / Monaco. Canyoning on the doorstep with lots of other outdoor activities for those inclined to break into a sweat. We had the occasional 'biblical' thunderstorm but even when Nice was a humid 35 degrees the house stayed no higher than 25 inside despite the lack of AirCon. Already planning on going back in either early spring or late autumn. Nikki was the perfect host - always available on WhatsApp for even the most trivial of questions. Brilliant holiday.
